Following the longest lockdown on earth, Global Airways is proud to collaborate with renowned choreographer Owen Lonzar and his team to bring you the latest installment of their #WaitingInTheWingsSA LIVE production show, COME FLY WITH US.
The Waiting in the Wings SA initiative was set up by Owen Lonzar, a choreographer in South Africa for the past 30 years, to assist and feed struggling artist throughout the lockdown that has lost their income or ability to earn an income as a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic. The fund was initially established to raise funds for grocery vouchers for all freelance performers but has since been extended to include backstage and stage management staff.
When Owen and his team approached us with their idea we jumped at the opportunity to help bring their vision to life.
Hosted by the insanely funny Sylvaine Strike and Toni Morkel of the fictional airline “Air Lockdown” the COME FLY WITH US live production show was recorded at our hangar facilities at OR Tambo International Airport (FALA), South Africa in front of and on top of – yes, on top of our Airbus A340-500.
This is truly a spectacular big band show and a first in South Africa, starring the 15 piece Waiting in the Wings Big Band along with lead vocalists, backing vocalists and dancers.
The show will stream online from 04 to 11 October 2020 with tickets available at quicket.co.za, and promises world-class entertainment you won’t want to miss. All proceeds from tickets sales will go towards the #WaitingInTheWings initiative.
